It took us longer than expected, but we're finally ready to bring Arindal into the next phase: beta.
Many people have been spending an enormous amount of their time and energy to make this project run so far. There is no way to thank them enough for this. Besides this, we have many patient alpha players, who kept playing, even when things were really bugged, or boring. We thank all of them for their patience and trust, their valuable input and their help with finding bugs.
A beta game is, as you all know, still a game *under construction*. A game like Arindal will always change and expand, but at the moment, we still have some bigger projects to make before we can say the game is ready for commercial.
With this Beta we're introducing our new website. Not everything is translated in all languages yet, and some content is missing here and there. Especially the french translations have some delay, the texts are still partly in English at the moment. We hope to have the website fully translated soon.
This beta means a full reset for all our Alpha testers. Everyone will need to get a new account at the account section of this website.
See you in Arilon. The mice are hungry!

After months of testing our Windows client has reached the final phase of development. We now have an excellent localized client, with all the features and more of the Mac client. Included is macro-support, openGL, sounds & music, movie options (compatible with mac-movies), bardmusic etc. Extras are for example screenshot options, and many rightclick-shortcuts. The nice 'snapping' windows help you keep your screen organized.
All this means that we are nearing the moment that we're going beta. In beta we will start with resetting everybody. This is a pain, we realize, but it is needed for a last balance-check. We have had several bugs which influenced trainers and various settings, and it is absolutely vital to start out clean. Of course we will be helping out a little in the early beginnings :)
In beta we will need to find a larger audience for the game. I am sure you understand how important that is for the game; it only works well with a larger community. Of course we will promote Arindal where ever we can. French, German & Dutch! If any 'professionals' amongst you have suggestions about were or how (sites, mail-lists, magazines, etc) we'd be very interested to hear your ideas. You can always mail Gyges!

It took a long time, you've waited many weeks but now it's done! Arindal opens it's gates for everyone who's interested. We're doing a public "Open-Alpha-Testphase" which means you can register right now and get a free account which includes up to 5 characters. With them you can enter the lands of Arilon and explore everything. Find new friends, experience exciting adventures, learn the fighters craftsmanship, the art of healing or discover the secrets of magic. It's up to you!
But be aware that participating in the Open-Alpha also means to report and describe bugs you'll find. Sometimes you'll be taken for some special tests or even your ranks will be reset if necessary. Keep in mind that the more you help us in this phase the more fun will be the whole game later on. Please read our agreement on the sign-up-page carefully because it's essential for being part of the Open-Alpha-Test-Team.
We hope you all enjoy the game and we'll see in Arilon!
